Yikes! Stripes!

Stripy Socks!

And so, one sock became two and another pair is born!

Stripy Socks!

These were just plain fun. No rhyme nor reason. No pattern. Just straight stockinette stitch. Not even the stripe pattern was pre-thought, I just kept going with one ball until it "felt right" to switch to the other. Now that they're done, I love 'em. What a unique pair of socks, right? The colors are wild! I need to find some way to wear my socks out and about that shows them off more. Hiding these things away in sneakers is just a crying shame!
It's either that or I need to invite people over to my place more.

And so! Two balls of sock yarn becomes three pairs of socks. Sounds like a bargain to me!

Three Pairs

P.S. It's not just the photographs, that turquoise really does seem to *glow* I love it!
P.P.S. Rogue Sweater has been put on hold until I can get to the yarn shop. I broke a freakin needle! @*#$!!
P.P.P.S. I apologize for unflattering leg-angles. WTB photographer helper, taking shots of your own feet wearing socks is hard. PST.

Thanks donkey! *huuuugs!*

The stripey sock came out so beautiful! I'm really quite pleased with it, but my favorite to be honest is the Monkey sock pair (on the left in the last photo) with stripes coming in close second. :D

Dude, spinning!
That's not only SO awesome, but on my list of things I'd like to get into one day. I have a feeling spinning is something that'll be much easier to learn with someone there to show you what to do though (omg teach me?!)

*hugs* Take photos! I want to see your yaaaarn!

Yeah - I have tried to learn from books, but there is NOTHING like having someone show you. It's mandatory. I have a bunch of "junk" roving that I've been practicing with. I'm lightyears away from a wheel and consistently-sized yarn, but oh man - it's the kind of thing you just can't put down once you pick it up. :)

I'll have photos of my shabbeh yarn eventually... :) <3 and I'll def. teach you next time we meet!

It seems silly sometimes, I mean you can buy a ten pack of socks for $5 or less, so why would you hand knit yourself a pair?

Even more, why would you hand knit yourself a pair from a $20+ skein of yarn?!

But then you actually knit yourself that pair of socks and you gain a whole new understanding! Little forms of art to wrap your feet up in and keep your toes toasty warm when needed.

Now all my other pairs of socks pale in comparison and I desire more! More beautiful pairs of socks!
It's an addiction I tell you! Almost as bad as my need to have many pretty pairs of panties!!

Although I cringe to think of wearing one of these woolly beauties out jogging or in the rain. Maybe there's use for those cheap-o multibuys yet *grins*
