Chris, who has only ever showed interest in the book when he realized that it would be the best way of talking to someone; especially when they get wrapped up in it (I always feel guilty when I realize I had caught up in my own excitement surrounding it, especially knowing full-well his disinterest and maybe even dislike of the whole series). Chris was the last person I expected to invite me to anything Harry Potter related.
He did though, (he after all knows more then anyone how lonely I have been, and has been very considerate towards me) and he suggested we go to the Harvard Square celebration over the Potterpalooza they were having at Coolidge Corner because of the music concert being held at the square. Harry and the Potters were there to headline the night; opening for them were the bands The Hungarian Horntails which Chris and I missed, and Draco and the Malfoys. Well, both the Malfoys and the Potters were very entertaining in a charming matter.
The Potter's won out for sheer enthusiasm but I have to say; "My Dad's Rich and Your Dad's Dead" by Draco and the Malfoys made me chuckle. It was a lot of fun to people watch and admire the costumes (I dearly wished I had one of my own, it's something I've always intended to do but never really got around to) Everybody seemed to be into the bands too, or at least certainly Harry and the Potters.
Chris and I walked home after that since Mum had pre-ordered the books and they weren't arriving until the next day for me.
And they did! They arrived around 2pm today and I've been reading steadily ever since. it's 2am now so it looks like it took me exactly 12 hours to read.
It's a good book.
It's a great series.
