I finished up Chris' socks last night!
Pattern: Thuja from Knitty
Yarn: 1 ball each of Carnival 8ply yarn in black and grey
Needles: Size US 6 (4.0mm) DPNs
Such a quick and satisfying knit! I had put this on hold while I was finishing up the singlet for baby Michael and was happy to pick it back up again. I finished it in two nights, that's how quick it went. So quick infact I had to have a bit of a chuckle as I was working on it. I was -trying- to pace myself. But you get into the zone and then it's just:
"Oh, I'm just going to knit the heel flap.
Oh, I'm just going to turn the heel.
Okay, maybe I'll just pick up the stitches for the gusset and then call it quits.
Okay, okay. I'll just knit a few rounds.
Right, fine. I'm just going to go through all the decreases. THEN I'm done. For realz this time!"
Such an easy pattern with fairly simple mods - I stopped the ribbing at the heel instead of continuing it all the way down the sock and did a simple color change like how Chris requested. They're very warm and cozy and Chris likes 'em! They're a win all around.
Finished! Hoofin' It Socks for Christopher
