I'm happy to see that the overwhelming majority aren't bothered at all (phew!)
You brought up some great points in the discussions though.
One of you asks "are lj-cuts so onerous?":
I have to admit, that I base my posts over not only what -I'd- like to see if I were someone else's blog, but also arranged in ways that make sense for me to navigate.
As I mentioned, I'm feeling selfish about wanting people to see my photos, and as a few of you mentioned:
"I don't always bother to click LJ cuts to check pictures" which, to be honest, is what I do too.
I certainly do use them, especially if I feel like I'm getting waaay too chatty, or if I'm going completely nutso with photos. But I REALLY prefer not to use them.
More people are worried about space and connection speed, which is understandable. For those with slower connections, another one of you brought up a fantastic little trick that I use myself:
"Photos never annoy me because I changed my settings so that only words show up in posts on my Friends Page. I can tell that there are 6 or 6 pics (or whatever) in an entry because of the little clickable box thingys that show up in the photos' spaces in the entry. So I can go back and click on what I want to. That has helped me immensely, especially since I have dial-up."
Now, I don't have dial-up, but I constantly put this in use because my connection is STILL slow as an aged slug. But this is of course just a suggestion, I'm looking for ways -I- can improve this blog.
So, I spent a drunken new years eve (mostly) on my own and pondering Where To Go From Here in my life, and while most of it was much more deep then this LJ, my plan here, is for sometime in the new year to really take the time to set up a blog dedicated to photography someplace other then Livejournal, then I can just link to it from here with one photo.
Until then I'm going to keep posting as I have (sorry to you grumblers! I'll keep it under control ;)
I hope you all have/had a very happy celebration into the New Years; if you get a chance on telly to check out the Sydney fireworks this year do so, they were AMAZING!
I hope 2009 treats you well.
As for me, I'm off to visit the rainforest today; expect pictures! :D
