I HAVE been incredibly productive for me of late, so I'm going to take a moment to pat myself on the back.
Yesterday I took myself into town and got my photos all printed out, matted up and submitted to the Nature Photography Competition.
These are the two photographs I settled on:
I have to say, they looked beautiful all printed out. It's one thing to have your pretty stuff in digital form and on the internets, but quite another to see them all big and glossy and held in your hands.
Now I get to cross my fingers and wait.. and wait.. the opening (and revealing of the results) won't be until the end of September, so I have a little while to wait for that..
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! It was drawn to my attention yesterday that the Canberra National Museum of Australia has several positions vacant at the moment, most of which I am well suited for.
I am DETERMINED not to let this opportunity for application to slip by me. It took me ALL GOD DAMN DAY for me to think up and type up my cover letter; coupled with taking lots of breaks (laundry got done, a good chunk of cleaning got done as well as other little household chores.. you know I'm desperately trying to put something off when I excitedly make sure the dishes get done!) But damn it I DID it, and I have sent it off to my ever loving, wonderful proof-reader that is my mum for her good advice.
It may seem like a small accomplishment, but after months of losing confidence and motivation to tackle something this exciting, I'm going to go ahead and call it a major victory and reward myself with some VICTORY CHEESECAKE!
My goal is to have the application completely submitted by Thursday. NO EXCUSES KATE!
Once again, massive massive thanks to Yags for being such an awesome, deep thinker... and yet not letting me get sidetracked away from what's really important. But I have a feeling there'll be much more thanks pointed in your direction in the future.
Best news? It's only Tuesday people! I still have a lot more productivity to get done.
